Table 1 shows the current balance of Local Government Bonds of prefectural governments and government-designated cities at the end of fiscal year 2004. Municipalities have been excluded from this.

Fund division B in this table indicates the current balance of public market offering Local Government Bonds. This table includes groups such as Aomori and Iwate Prefectures that make public offering only of citizen participatory-type public market offering bonds to regionally limited markets.

Groups marked with a circled on the left side of the table (prefectures) are currently issuing public market offering Local Government Bonds.

The lower section of Table 1 indicates government-designated cities that are issuing public market offering bonds in the same fashion.

Overall, at the end of the fiscal year 2004, this amounted to 25,192.5 billion Japanese yen.

The balance of the bonds issued was greatest in Tokyo, Osaka, Kanagawa, Hokkaido, Hyogo prefectures and the cities of Osaka and Kawasaki, among others.
